Now that the rain has stopped
Quietness abounds
Living creatures huddle underground
Hoping somehow the Seasons might grant us reprieve
But Icarus has flown; he has taken his leave
Still, now and again our eyes search the skies
Where gentle clouds no longer cover stark, bright blue
Majestic birds no longer hover, throating joyful songs
And pain wells up anew
